Like most everything else on the Internet, people are finding ways to make money from the phenomenon. There are indexes of TV fan sites that are peppered with advertising. Sites for the soap opera stars provide particularly potent advertising opportunities. There are “official” and unofficial sites dedicated to public figures in the entertainment world. What the entertainment industry has learned is that, generally, fan sites have a positive impact on the entertainer or entertainers featured. His role as Coach Cedric Robinson on The Steve Harvey Show got Cedric the Entertainer four consecutive “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series” NAACP Image Awards.

Cedric the Entertainer also has developed his own philanthropy called The Cedric the Entertainer Charitable Foundation. The goal of the foundation is to give scholarships and provide outreach programs for children and families in the inner-city in St. Louis. The program is set on expanding nationally.
